Production, second week
After first week of production we kept improving the core gameplay, as well as implement some powerups.
Now you have pick-ups that can either help you or make it a little harder on you. For now, you have speed-up & speed-down; it makes you move faster or makes you move slower. You have enlarge; it makes your ball bigger, which makes it easier for you to die, or it makes the other players' balls bigger, which makes it harder on them. You also have swap; it makes the players swap positions, this leads to confusement and makes it more interesting. For each pick-up there's a different chance of it showing up, you have 45% for speed, 45% for enlarge and 10% for swap. there's also a 70% chance of the pick-up being good.
There are still more to come!
While playing the game with other players it occured that players would push each other and get in each others way so we added player bumping, where both players would get pushed back.
We wanted the players to have more than 1 life, so you're not out right away, and a basic HUD showcasing how many lives you've got left.
We added the arena model to see how it feels with 4 players in there, and the play area is currently smaller than last build since that one felt quite big.
Previous versions only had 4 players enabled, but on this update you can change how many players are active by pressing 2-4 on your keyboard and the game will reset with that many players.
